In the Bible, we often read about the incredible power of faith. It is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Today’s devotion explores the story of the centurion’s faith found in the Gospel of Matthew.

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. The centurion had a servant who was lying at home paralyzed, suffering terribly. Jesus offered to come and heal him, but the centurion replied that he was not worthy to have Jesus under his roof. Instead, he asked Jesus to just say the word, and his servant would be healed. Jesus was amazed at the centurion’s faith and said, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”
