In today’s devotion, we explore the incredible story of Peter’s faith as he walked on water with Jesus, and how this remarkable event teaches us about the unwavering power of faith in the face of challenges.

Story: In Matthew 14:22-33, we find the account of Jesus walking on water and the bold step of faith taken by Peter. During a stormy night, Jesus appeared to His disciples walking on the sea. Filled with awe and doubt, they initially thought He was a ghost. But Jesus reassured them, saying, “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”

Point: At this moment, Peter demonstrated extraordinary faith by boldly asking Jesus if he could come to Him on the water. Responding to Peter’s faith, Jesus invited him to step out of the boat and walk towards Him. Miraculously, Peter started walking on water, but as his focus wavered, fear crept in, and he began to sink. He cried out to Jesus, who immediately stretched out His hand and saved him, saying, “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”
